The Owners of Dreams of Yesteryear Bed and Breakfast

Bonnie and Bill Maher are Stevens Point natives.  They were high school sweethearts and dreamed of someday owning an historic home.  One mobile home, one ranch style home, and two daughters later, they found their dream house.

The Queen Anne had everything they had ever hoped for.  Even though they didn't buy it with the intention of turning it into a bed and breakfast,  one weekend they found themselves taking the overflow for another bed and breakfast, and have been sharing their Victorian dream home ever since.

Bill is retired and is the past president of Maher Water Corporation, a business started in 1950 by his father.  (Now you'll understand why Dreams of Yesteryear has all the latest water "gadgets" including soft water and reverse osmosis).

Bill and Bonnie

Bonnie is retired from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point where she worked as an office manager for the Tutoring-Learning Center.

Bonnie has served on the Stevens Point Historic Design Review Commission and is a self-taught interior designer.  She is well-read in Victorian design and incorporated her studies into the bed and breakfast, as you will see when you visit!

Peggy Sue, the official B&B bichon

Although not living at Dreams of Yesteryear, Peggy Sue Maher, an incredibly sweet and docile bichon mix, joined the family in October of 2006, after being adopted from the Portage County Humane Society. Peggy now lives with one of Bill and Bonnie's daughters and her family, but you may find her visiting at the bed and breakfast (along with her new friends, the grandchildren) from time to time. She is quiet, non-shedding, and non-allergenic, friendly toward everyone and happy to receive attention.
