Victorian Dream Gardens - The Gardens at Dreams of Yesteryear

The gardens at Dreams... in the wintertime they sleep under a blanket of white, but in the spring the empty beds give way to a shoot of green here and there, a sprinkling of buds appear, and in no time at all the garden is in full bloom.

The gardens at Dreams of Yesteryear are vibrant in the warm seasons. Besides being peaceful and pleasant for our guests to stroll through, they are also an excellent habitat for city wildlife, including several species of birds. Many of our guests enjoy bird-watching from the three-season east porch.

Outside you can always find a nice place to sit a spell, whether it's the raised brick patio, or one of the garden benches. Visit throughout the seasons and see how the garden grows!

A lively mixture of perennials, bulbs and annuals surround the house like the setting of a jewel. Planting all the pots and gardens on this large property--more than three city lots-- each year is quite an event.
The vine-covered west porch is nestled in a well-established border bed.

Perennials are the staple of a Victorian garden. Only hardy varieties thrive here, able to over-winter safely in spite of the low temperatures.
